Francesco Dedè

Francesco Dedè has been Associate Professor of Historical and General Linguistics at the University of Milan since 2020, following previous appointments as a Type B Research Fellow (2017–2020) and Type A Research Fellow (2013–2016) at the same institution. He also served as adjunct professor of Historical and General Linguistics at the University of Pavia (Cremona campus) during the 2017–2018 academic year.
He earned his PhD in Historical Linguistics from the University of Milan in 2012, with a dissertation entitled Greek Nouns in -αρ and -ωρ: Heteroclisis and Nominal Classes. He was involved in the PRIN 2009 project The Metalanguage of Linguistics: Models and Applications (2011–2013, National Coordinator: Prof. Vincenzo Orioles), as well as several departmental and interdepartmental research projects at the University of Milan, both as a team member and project coordinator. He has been part of the scientific and organizing committees of various national and international conferences and has presented his work at many others.
He regularly serves as a peer reviewer for several academic journals in the field and is Managing Editor of the Atti del Sodalizio Glottologico Milanese, a journal classified as “Class A” by the Italian National Agency ANVUR. He chaired the committee responsible for the certification of teaching qualifications in Italian as a second language. He is a member of several scholarly societies, including the Società Italiana di Glottologia, the Società di Linguistica Italiana, the Indogermanische Gesellschaft, and the Sodalizio Glottologico Milanese, where he also serves on the Executive Board and acts as interim Treasurer.
